The Columbia Startup Lab opened in July and occupies 5,100 square feet of renovated and reconfigured shared work space of the WeWork Soho West location in the heart of New York City’s Silicon Alley.
Celebrating its first anniversary this past July 1st, 2014, Columbia Entrepreneurship (CE) resides in the President’s Office with close partnership from the University Office of Alumni Relations and Development and the many centers of entrepreneurship across campus. The mission is simple: to help Columbia’s students, faculty and alumni launch Columbia-born ventures. Tactics include brokering collaborations between existing organizations, filling in gaps where much-needed resources are missing and strengthening school-based entrepreneurship programming.
